Tiberius T8.1 Remote Air Adaptor Now Available
A long awaited accessory, the Tiberius Arms Air Adaptor for the T8.1 allows T8.1 users with a marker in the >2000 serial number range to attach a remote line to their pistol. Still no news about the long talked about (supposedly less expensive) powerlet-free magazines, which would make this newly released accessory far more useful. MSRP appears to be somewhere around the $30 USD mark.

Strikemark Picatinny Camera Mounts
A frustration of those with GoPro and Contour cameras is that they have a hard time finding mounts for firearms/airsoft guns/paintball markers. Strikemark apparently offers a great range of mounts for picatinny-equipped platforms. They even offer a Glock GoPro mount, kind of funny as the GoPro is nearly as big as the Glock itself.

RAP4 Lok-Bolt Released
The RAP4 Lok-Bolt has been released, retailing at a price of $70 UDS, functioning as a drop-in part for the RAP4 T68 system. Omar Macy of RAP4 has released a (decidedly better looking than most RAP4 videos) video showing off the product:

MK7P Tacamo Conversion Kit Review
It's impossible to ever be (completely) objective, you can go ahead and argue that with me, but I've already made up my mind about it and there's nothing you can do about it. That being said, there are certain things that always seem to evoke especially prejudiced or agenda laden opinions one way or another. The Tacamo conversion kit reviews I've seen thus far seem to be perfect poster children of such objects of subjectivity (that sentence makes my brain hurt). So, with that being kept in mind, here is my review of the Tacamo MK7P conversion kit (all other Tacamo kit reviews will be short addenda, as it's just not efficient to do entirely new reviews of each one, barring extreme unforeseen circumstances), with the goal of reviewing the conversion kit for what it is and does, not for what it represents and evokes feelings of from any party. That enough of a preface for you?

New WTFPB Products - Pump and Pistol Deliciousness
If couldn't already tell, I'm a big fan of WTFPB's paintball offerings. Check out a couple very cool new items they're stocking:
I'd recently seen a rash of posts on various forums bemoaning the lack of capless pouches for pump players that were MOLLE compatible, and this is an awesome answer to that. WTFPB now stocks such a pouch in a 5 round and 10 round version.

Future of Paintball: Digital Night Vision Goggle Lens

Disclaimer: In the Future of Paintball series, we at Grey Ops take a look at a promising new trend or technology that may affect Paintball in the near or distant future. As Futurism is a difficult science, and we don't in any way consider ourselves "Paintball Futurists", this recurring feature is for entertainment purposes only.
In a previous installment of Future of Paintball, we took a look at how LCD technology currently in use could revolutionize Paintball goggle lenses in a few years. Well how sick would it be to be able to swap out your goggle lens for one with built-in digital night vision technology? We may just see that soon enough, if products like Paulson International's DNVG-1 take off.

RAP4 Test Kit Magazine Issues

Those of you who watched Wolf's evaluation of the RAP4 MK5 magazine-fed test kit definitely noticed the constant problems he had with the clear magazines that shipped with the kit. Connor also had some feed issues with a magazine, as you can see when he shoots the kit here. I received 6 of the same magazines with my T68 Operation Endwar packages, and had similar problems with 2 of them. In this post, I'll show you what causes these problems, and what needs to be done to fix them.

Cheap Electrosight Batteries
EB Airsoft and other Chinese Airsoft suppliers are great sources of replica electrosights for your Milsim marker. Unfortunately, these replicas are usually powered by exotic Lithium batteries, and finding replacements for them at a reasonable price can be a challenge. This post will bring to light some cheap Canadian sources for them.

Future of Paintball: LCD Goggle Lens

Fast-Tint Protective Eyewear (FTPE) is a new type of military ballistic eyewear. The glasses use electronic LCD technology to lighten or darken the tinting of the lenses in response to varying light conditions. On an operator fighting outdoors in bright sunlight, the lenses will be at their darkest. But when that same operator enters a dark room to clear it, the lenses will turn clear and colourless.
Although photochromic lenses already exist (like the well-known Transitions brand of lenses), these can take anywhere from 10-30 seconds to go from one extreme to another, which is far too long for an operator who needs to move quickly from one environment to the next. FTPEs are perfect for warriors needing to make split-second decisions, because they take a split-second to change tints. Less than half a second, in fact.

Digital Camera RIS Mount Mod

You'd think, with all of the first-person shooting sports videos posted on YouTube, that RIS mounts for standard digital cameras would be all over the place by now. But that's not the case. Even with the GoPro, the state-of-the-art tech for recording action sports, an option for a weapon mount is curiously left out of their mounts lineup (pictured above).
After scouring the Internet high and low, I found one reasonably-priced mount that didn't quite fit the bill. It actually provides a socket to plug in the male end of a standard camera tripod, but what's needed is a similar mount with a post to mount your camera onto.

Of course with some sawing down of a 1/4 inch bolt, you could probably mod this piece so that a post sticks out of the socket to mount your standard camera onto, but it could be very frustrating. You'd have no way of making sure the camera would line up straight with the front of the mount when you screwed it on, and there would be no way of tightening it so that it couldn't come loose.
RAP4 offers an option for mounting a camera to RIS rails, called the Land Warrior system, but the mount suits that one specific camera, which might not be what you want to use.
However, through the use of good ol' Canadian ingenuity and brain-wracking, I've come up with what I feel is a suitable, and most importantly CHEAP way to mount a digital camera with a standard socket to an RIS sytem.

A Closer Look at MILSIG's 20-Round Magazines

I recently picked up a 6-pack of MILSIG's new 20-round magazines, released in late 2009. In this post I'll be going over my first impressions of them, and the results of some basic testing.
Aside from the higher capacity, MILSIG has made other improvements to their new magazine design, with their product listing claiming:
•Steel magazine body pins (supports the winding mechanism inside the magazine)
•Steel winding cable (improved cable strength and prevention against stretching of the cable)
•Adjustment free magazine head (allows perfect engagement of magazine head and easier magazine insertion)
MILSIG spokesperson Jackie Chan also had this to say about them in a YouTube comment:
"Japanese made treated spring (consistent elasticity and strength - ideal for load and diminish ball breaks), German-made perfectly spherical ball bearings/detents (that do not come off easily from the collar like other similar products), High Strength Steel cable and gear winder (compared to low quality textile/nylon strings from others that snaps easily), Improved Body design and materials - longer life-span and integrity, Steel Pins vs Plastic."

Battle of the Electrosights

Blue Line, billed as "Canada's Law Enforcement Magazine", has an interesting article in their December 2010 issue on Aimpoint and EOTech electronic weapon sights (EWS). In it, they pit 3 sights against each other in torture tests:

No Money November: Paintball Gear at Thrift Stores
In a couple of previous posts I revealed some handy paintball items that you could pick up at your local dollar store (in case you missed them, you'll find them here and here).
Now, in this post I'll reveal another little-known spot where you can pick up milsim paintball gear on the cheap: Thrift stores! Thrift stores may go by different names depending on where you're located, but I'm talking about stores like the Salvation Army or your local swap meet. These are stores where people donate clothing, household items, or sporting goods, and these in turn are sold, with the profits usually going to support any number of charities. In my neck of the woods the biggest chain of second-hand goods stores is known as Value Village (I believe it's known as Savers in the States). The sheer department store scale of these outlets means you have more selection and items to choose from, and a better chance of lucking out and finding some good gear for milsim paintball!
