Should First Strikes be Fired by Every Marker?

With the increasing availability of First Strike rounds and the similar rise in platforms capable of utilizing the revolutionary (well I guess we can argue about that) paintballs, the question begs asking, "Just because manufacturers can make all of their markers compatible with First Strike rounds, should they?".

Tiberius CQB Holster

Tiberius Arms has announced the launch of their CQB Holster, which would appear to be based upon the holster previously(?) produced by CQB Tactical Paintball. No word on pricing or availability as of yet.

Tiberius T4.1

Often talked about but never acknowledged by Tiberius Arms till now, the T4.1 is the eagerly anticipated evolution of the Tiberius T4. As with their T9 to T9.1 transition, the most notable addition is an air tank in stock, something that truly rounds out the T4 platform in my opinion. To catch new updates from Tiberius Arms, be sure to monitor their Facebook page here.

Full Auto First Strike and MKP-II

RAP4 has released a new video (shown above) of two interesting things. First off, a USA built MKP kit will be released, called the MKP-II, which should be great for Americans wanting to buy quality domestic products, and Canadians wanting to keep their money on the continent, and secondly said kit firing a mag full of first strike rounds on full auto. Totally awesome, but I get the feeling players that can afford to consistently play like that will be showing up to the field in Bugatti Veyron.

Be sure to check out RAP4's Facebook Page for more updates, or as always you can Like Grey Ops on Facebook for the latest milsim news, videos etc.

Tiberius T8.1 Remote Air Adaptor Now Available

A long awaited accessory, the Tiberius Arms Air Adaptor for the T8.1 allows T8.1 users with a marker in the >2000 serial number range to attach a remote line to their pistol. Still no news about the long talked about (supposedly less expensive) powerlet-free magazines, which would make this newly released accessory far more useful. MSRP appears to be somewhere around the $30 USD mark.

Milsig FXR - P2C

Milsig continues to roll out new product teasers, check out the newest release, the FXR (force multiplier) P2C (pistol to carbine):

These kits, beyond obviously allowing you to use a TPX or T8 as a carbine, also apparently allow you to use an air-thru or 13ci tank option with the marker. This is cool stuff.

Killjoy Industries Brainstorming T8 Compensators

Looks like a reputable company is finally making a compensator for the T8 without directly knocking off the UMS compensator!  Killjoy Industries is brainstorming for ideas for a future compensator on their Facebook page, showing the following options:

Flasc Tiberius T9.1 Rip Clip Adaptor

Why is that so cool? Well with a 13 ci tank, an A5 hopper and a short barrel, you can have one of the most compact set-ups available, while still having lots of firepower. Or even on a 12 gram CO2 cartridge, you could get through  most of a short Tac Cap. Leave it to Flasc to come out with inventive solutions and products that others haven't thought of. You can check out their website here.

Killjoy Tiberius Trigger Pre-Order

I knew Killjoy Industries was great for having a short prototype to production turn-around time, but less than two weeks after their first announcement of their adjustable Tiberius triggers they're now taking pre-orders with an ETA of the end of the month!

Click here to go to the product page, and just for fun tell them Grey Ops sent you!

Skunkworks Holsters in Stock at Crypsis

Remember Skunkworks holsters? Well hopefully you'll be seeing a lot more of them, as they're now in stock at Crypsis (full disclosure as always, Crypsis is my [Connor] store that I opened up this summer)!

If you read my review, you'll know why I love them, and  I believe they're the best holster system on the market for paintball pistols. They're made of Kydex, which is a pretty damn cool polymer, and makes for an insanely good fit/retention while allowing for a draw like yanking a lightsaber out of a pad of butter (yes, that's a bit of a hyperbole, but still it's awesome). Available are drop legs, MOLLE holsters and belt holsters as of now, with shoulder holsters on the way soon.

As always, email me at connor@greyops.net or info@crypsis.ca for more info.

Killjoy Tiberius Adjustable Triggers

Killjoy Industries has been making accessories for Tippmann markers and the like for quite some time, and doing it quite well. They're known for their affordable and unique products that cater to both ergonomics and general badassery. Coming soon are their custom made triggers for Tiberius markers, which will feature an adjustable trigger stop (cool) and a CNCed aluminium construction. Below are some prototype pictures for your viewing pleasure:

T8/T9 Magazine Extenders Coming Back

MOATI, formerly of Special Ops Paintball (and who is now completely disenfranchised with it and involved in all sorts of drama) has started the process of selling the once very popular Special Ops Paintball product, the T8/T9 Magazine Extenders. These cool doohickeys allow you to have 17 paintballs in a Tiberius magazine as opposed to 8, which also allows for some cool MP7 mods (by using an aftermarket MP7 shroud). You can find the pre-order page here.

Tiberius Arms Job Opportunity

Tired of the same old same old? If you're into social media, website design and paintball, why not apply to a company that not only creates some of the best paintball pistols ever, but also some very cool less lethal equipment.

And believe me, they're in desperate need of a website designer... the job posting doesn't even have a text value on the web page! Posted below as a screen cap:

Mag-Fed Malarkey - Rant Week

Last week, RAP4 revealed that their much-delayed magazine conversion kits would finally be released for sale to the public. This means that soon, players all over the Paintball world will be able to scoop the internals out of their Tippmann 98s, Phenoms, and BT-4s, place them in the kit bodies, and finally get a taste of how shitty mag-fed play can often be.

Now don't get me wrong - playing mag-fed definitely feels "cool". It's fun to tear out an empty mag from your marker and slap in a new one, all while the player next to you behind your bunker stops shooting his hopper-fed marker and gawks. But there are a lot of negative issues with the equipment, and with the style of play that mag-fed markers necessitate, that can be extremely aggravating. I think a lot (maybe most) of the buyers of these kits thought about the "cool" factor only when they pre-ordered, and are in for some nasty surprises when they take their new toys to their local fields.

Casualties of the Paintball Munition Wars

For quite some time, the mainstream paintball industry was quite content with the ubiquitous .68 caliber PEG spheres. This came after a long series of trials and errors with different calibers used, that I won't go into (if you really want to know a lot about it, ask one of the aging paintballers that populates MCB and I'm sure they'll give you a lengthy speech about ye olde caliber decision [love you guys]), with the masses settling on a .68 inch diameter paintball.

But, people are always looking to make money innovate, and in the recent past we've seen several new kinds of munitions pop up. Ever wonder how they're doing?

Who is the Paintball Manufacturer to Watch in 2011?

"Who is the Paintball Manufacturer to Watch in 2011?" was the question I asked via Grey Ops' Facebook page. Over a hundred people answered, and here are how the results came out:

Tiberius Arms Industrial Power Tool Porn Scandal

We here at Grey Ops don't pull any punches. When someone does something that we feel is morally reprehensible, we call them out on it. The last company we expected this from would be Tiberius Arms. So far, they've been an honest and upfront company that we've had nothing but good things to say about. That changed when I discovered damning and plain disturbing evidence of Tiberius Arms' involvement in an Industrial Power Tool Porn ring. Hard to believe, I know. But here's the proof...

You're all familiar with Tiberius Arms' logo, a spartan and visually appealing construction:

Well, take a look at this...

Warning: The image ahead is of a sexual nature (I think), could be pornographic (but I seriously hope it isn't), and is just plain weird (really friggin' weird). It's possible it's NSFW, but more than anything it's just weird. You've been warned.
