TM-series Rip Clip shortage

"GET SOME" may be the slogan for the recently-released TM-series Rip Clip, but if you're looking to get one, you may have to wait a little longer. The coveted sound-activated loader is sold out pretty much everywhere you look. A couple of dealers I've spoken to have said that even BT/Kee doesn't have any at the moment, and none are expected to be available before late August.

When the TM-15 marker was released in mid-2009, BT included a Rip Clip adapter in the package, dangling a carrot in the face of owners. After the product was finally released about 2 months ago, it now turns out BT has serious supply issues with it. So if you're looking to add a Rip Clip to your TM-series Milsim marker, be prepared for a bit of a wait!

  3. As an alternative, FLASC offers a TM series rip clip adaptor, and you can purchase microphone adaptors for existing non TM-rip clips so they can work with a TM-7/15. Not to mention you'll be supporting a Canadian company in buying from them.

  4. I've looked around the RAP4 site, and they only seem to carry the original Rip Clip for the BT-4/M98.

  5. I've got a TM7 and 15 comming, and have had a TM rip clip on order since the start of June, 3+ months is way too long to be out of stock on something like that. BT/Kee either vastly underestimated the demand, or there's production issues, I've heard people say it's a mix of the 2, but nothing concrete yet.

  6. That's too bad Darsis, they really should be on top of this, it's not like there's a plastic shortage out there.

  7. I'm not crazy about FLASC's Rip Clip adapter, because with it installed it causes the RC to stick out an additional 3/4 inch. It's hard enough to stay tucked in behind a bunker and shoot with a bulky RC attached to the side of your gun, so I don't want to give it even extra width. FLASC's product was great back when the dedicated RC was just hot air, but at this point I'll wait for the real deal to be in stock for my TM7.
